Stapleton Neighborhood

Stapleton Neighborhood

The Stapleton neighborhood was developed on the sight of the old Stapleton airport which closed in 1995. The neighborhood began being redeveloped almost immediately with the nations largest and most ambitious city infill projects of the decade by Forest City Development. The plan for the development was set as a 17 year plan. The first buyers at Stapleton moved into their homes in 2000. The community has been touted for it's well planned New Urban model of development. The homes were planned to create more of a sense of community with and emphasis of community gathering spaces like open front porches, pocket parks and organized community activities. Much of the design is traditional and aimed at capturing urbanites who were looking for the charm and location of the city but with more space for less money.
